More Flood Photos ...

Back Yard Flood 06

Viewed from the far back corner of our property, here it is ... Actually, not as high as the flood of '03, which was above the fence line in a few spots. No creek or stream or anything like that ... this is simply what happens when you get 6+ inches of rain in 12 hours.

For the curious ... our house is not not visible in this photo, but its up the hill & behind the trees at the top right-center of the photo. Can you find wils in the photo?

Got Silt?

Friends and Fams: boy, was there a flood. The water was about 4 feet deep, but gave us a rare opportunity to float thru the backyard. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, then you float in it. Yuk.

The very same water was all gone on by sunrise Sunday monrning. We were lucky - no damage to speak of.

There was serious damage all over the region. Our hearts go out to the families who suffered tragic loss of loved ones in the flood waters. Truly sad.

Boy Solves Problem With Too Many Pens

Jack Drawring

I heard Jack yell for help ... a few times actually. So, I went into the other room to see what he was needing ... he says, "Nevermind, I got it.". I asked him what the problem was ... "Too many pens covering my paper. Put them in the holder, you can't get to the bottom pen without getting them all out ... it's stupid"

So, here he is - totally serious and in the zone, not even noticing Michelle and I laughing and admiring his pre-K street smarts.
